Police make arrest and seize car on North Staffordshire street
Police have seized a car on a North Staffordshire street. The vehicle was towed away after being discovered on Hogarth Place, in Chesterton. A man has been arrested in connection with the investigation. A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "The county proactive and rural crime team have seized a vehicle on Hogarth Place following the discovery of approximately 50kg of suspected stolen three-phase copper cable concealed in the rear compartment. A 57-year-old man is currently under investigation on suspicion of handling stolen goods." 44 charges laid, stolen vehicles recovered
A Windsor Police Service cruiser is seen in this image from October 2018. (Source: Windsor police) A total of 44 charges have been laid in connection to a vehicle theft investigation in Windsor. According to police, the investigation began on July 7 when a pickup truck with fraudulent Ontario license plate was seen. They said the description matched that of a truck reported stolen in Essex in June. Windsor police officers said they were led to a home in the 2200 block of Cadillac Street through the investigation, finding the pickup truck, confirming it was stolen. When on the property, police said they found two more stolen vehicles and a trailer that was fraudulently rented with stolen ID. The vehicles were searched, resulting in various pieces of stolen information, such as ID cards, cheques, insurance papers, and other documents belonging to several other people. A 31-year-old man was arrested inside the home without incident. He is facing the following charges: 13 counts of obtaining identity information for a fraudulent offence 13 counts of procure to be made/possess/transfer/sell the identity document of another Personation to gain an advantage Fraud under $5,000 Uttering a forged document Seven counts of possession of property obtained by crime Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 Four counts of failure to comply with a release order Two counts of breach of probation The investigation remains ongoing. Sask. RCMP investigate sudden death in RM of Beaver River
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a sudden death at a rural property in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Beaver River, about 350 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon. On July 11, at around 1:30 p.m., Pierceland RCMP received a report of a sudden death after local firefighters responded to a structure fire on the property, RCMP said in a news release. Upon arrival, they found a deceased adult female, later identified as 25-year-old Juanita Wahpistikwan from Big Island Lake Cree Nation. Her family has been notified. RCMP say they're working to determine the circumstances surrounding Wahpistikwan's death. They are seeking information from anyone who had contact with her on July 10 and 11. If you saw or spoke with Wahpistikwan during that time or have any information about her death, police ask you to contact major crimes at 310-RCMP. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Sask. RCMP say updates will be provided when possible and if an imminent risk to public safety is identified, they will notify the public.
